Identify Human Strengths in Work

1. Identify and nurture your strengths.

Be your best you, not an underdog.

We've heard the stories told, describing the underdog who rises from the sometimes literal ashes to the flames of success in spite of incredible odds. As much as we may want this metaphor to come to fruition, it’s simply not realistic. Let’s not focus on "fixing" where efforts fall short, but in identifying natural human talents, and opportunities.

If you're like Clark Kent and have the ability of x-ray vision (intuition), start using your skill and become the superhero you were meant to be all along.

Unfortunately, it's not efficient or effective to focus on fixing your allergy to Kryptonite.

Accelerate your personal growth alongside your professional ambitions by nurturing your innate talents.

I've discovered and learned about my innate talents by taking the Strengths Finder 2.0 test by Tom Rath, and it's one of the best choices I've made for my future career.

2. Apply your talents day-to-day

Bet on yourself each and every day.

You've got x-ray vision, okay, maybe just intuition...The point is once you recognize and acknowledge what skills come naturally to you, you're able to grow that skill, and effectively enhance your professional work, and personal life.

I recommend you go for it. Bet on yourself, and what you are good at! Investing in your skills will positively impact how you go about accomplishing tasks and performing overall.

Clark uses his talent to see through objects, to find the truth and share it with the world, as a reporter for the Daily Planet.

So this might not be the perfect analogy, but intuition can be applied the same way. If you carry the ability to read signals from people and situations, use that skill to help you better understand people and situations in order to gain a positive outcome for all parties involved.

Outside of work, Clark becomes Superman (or Superwoman), the hero who fights crime for the people. This example reflects the use of skills to assist others and not just their own personal or ulterior needs.

3. Learn about your team's natural talents

Rely on your teams' strengths.

As much as we may want to think we are good at everything, in an endless sea of knowledge, it is difficult to master everything. Even Superwo(man) has a weakness.

Identify which talents your team members naturally excel. A group of talented individuals, who hold onto different skills, can create a well rounded and complementary team.

Sometimes Superwo(man) needs help from the rest of the Justice League team, to support him/her in the strengths they lack.

Rely on your teammates' strengths where they excel and you may not. It's okay. Let them compliment you, and do the same in return. Collaborate and support one another. Let's all have our moment to shine, and not forget to let our friends and coworkers do the same.

I highly encourage you to take the Strengthsfinder 2.0 test, and fully unleash your potential.
